What a neat school!

After the program

Dave & I hung around,

and reminisced.

They are building a new

school next door and

this one will be tore

down once the new

one is ready. It will be sad to see

this school go. Why does this

school mean so much to us all?

Because all 6 of us went there growing

up. It is so much fun having the kids go to the same school I went to, sitting in the same classrooms, Hayden has the same 6th grade teacher I had (wow.. I feel young!), and eating the same yummy (most of the time) food in the same lunchroom

Birthday Cake Drama

So for Hayden's 12th Birthday I took him to the store in the morning and he picked out a cake mix and frosting (both vanilla). We came home and he made the cake ALL by himself for the first time. Once the timer went off he asked me if he could then frost it and I told him to wait a 1/2 hour or so so it could cool. A while later I called him up from downstairs to frost his cake. This is what we found...

The funny thing is.. she said it didn't even taste good. Ummm.... it had to be somewhat good because she couldn't even stop after that first bite. I told her to smile for the camera and she just shook her head "no". Happy Birthday Hayden!

Derby Day!

Friday night we had our ward Pinewood Derby. Holy Smokes... we had seen the movie "Down & Derby" (you gotta see it if you haven't) but we really had no idea that's how things are in the Pinewood Derby World. There were men there who acted like kids in a candy store. They were carrying around these little hard cases that I thought were tool boxes or brief cases and then they'd open them up and they were the cars that were 30-40 years old from when they were kids. It's was cute.

We didn't even start our kids' cars until about 10 the night before (remember.. we may not have it all together but together we have it all.. in other words... some times life just happens and things get put off until the last minute. oh well!). I painted them Friday while the boys were at school so they'd be all ready to decorate with decals when they got home. Well, the wheels wouldn't even spin on Chet's car so Kelly had to take a dremmel tool to the fenders. Needless to say my kids' cars never won a round but they looked good and they had a blast and that's all that matters.

For some reason Wyatt's car was solid.. he kept having the guy weigh it and it would be too heavy. Kel would drill some out and it would still be too heavy. Everyone had their cars weighted and ready to go but Wyatt's car was still way too heavy. By the time they got it to the weight it needed to be we were late starting and it was almost hollow.

Ok, so here we go again. I deleted my blog a while ago but with more of my family joining the blogging world, I felt left out and decided to start again. First, I'll post some pictures of Easter (if i can remember how)
