My Baby is 7

7 years ago today our baby girl was born.. and we didn't even know it until 13 months later. It has been awesome! It is so amazing to me that fate, prayers and blessings can bring a family together. Happy Birthday Jasmyn. We love you so much and are so blessed to have you in our family!

Nothing Like A Good Airshow

Ahhh.. I think it was going to airshows with my dad as a kid that made me have a love for jets. I love, love, love jets! When I hear a jet coming I have to get outside or stop whatever I am doing to see it fly by. They amaze me. So we took the kids to the airshow. We got there about 20 min. before the thunderbirds performed. Five minutes into their performance it started poaring and then hailing. Ten minutes later it was sunny and the show resumed. Amazing! Watching them made me so giddy.. the goosebumps, the lump in my throat, the Patriotism.

Operation Mend Broken Heart

Christine (my sister from another Mother) called me saying she had found a miniature horse on ksl and was thinking about going to pick her up for Grandpa since he had just lost his beloved cow Daisy. I told her I wanted to go with. We had no way of transporting her but since she was a mini we thought she would fit perfect right in the back of my van. I got a table cloth to lay down (didn't think to grab a plastic one), took out the back seat and we were on our way.

We fell in love when we saw her. She is the sweetest thing. She was a little bigger that we were planning though. Once we got her in the back of the van we were on our way to finish our mission. She bucked, reared, hopped and neighed for about the first 10 minutes and there were a couple times we thought about turning back. I was really nervous to take her on the freeway.. especially since she did the best when we were going real slow. Chris soon realized that she was ok as long as she was being sung to.

I kept imaging the next days newpaper headlines saying : "Two dumb women trampled to death by horse in minivan on freeway". We made it though. Her name is Dixie which we thought was fitting & perfect.. Dixie (St. George) carries a lot of meaning to the Prisbrey family name. Not sure if it mended the broken heart.. in fact, I know it didn't (that will take more time) but he loves her & she loves him.

aNoThEr PeRfEcT dAy!

We loaded up the cooler, the pogo stick and of course the kids and took off. After a super busy, hectic week that is like a wonderful meal for our family.. to drive up towards the mountains or a park and just enjoy eachother. We laughed and played and loved being together.

Hayden & Kolton played on the pogo stick (both are amazing on one) so I told them whoever could make it around the whole campground without falling off would get a whole package of gummy bears (not thinking either of them would make it since it equaled almost a block).

Hayden had to start over twice but made it all the way around the campground. He was huffing & puffing & super sweaty when he got done but super proud.

The younger kids spent the time hunting frogs. What a blast

hApPy EaStEr!

ALL I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT LIFE I LEARNED FROM THE EASTER BUNNY ..

Don't put all of your eggs in one basket.

Everyone needs a friend who is all ears.

There's no such thing as too much candy.

All work and no play can make you a basket case.

A cute little tail attracts a lot of attention.

Everyone is entitled to a bad hare day.

Let happy thoughts multiply like rabbits.

Keep your paws off other people's jellybeans.

Good things come in small sugarcoated packages.

The grass is always greener in someone else's basket.

An Easter bonnet can tame even the wildest hare.

To show your true colors you have to come out of your shell.

I'm not sure who wrote this but I loved it!!

AIN'T...

He was just a little boy, On a week's first day. Wandering home from Bible school, And dawdling on the way.

He scuffed his shoes into the grass; He even found a caterpillar. He found a fluffy milkweed pod, And blew out all the 'filler.'

A bird's nest in a tree overhead, So wisely placed up so high. Was just another wonder, That caught his eager eye.
A neighbor watched his zig zag course, And hailed him from the lawn; Asked him where he'd been that day And what was going on.

'I've been to Bible School,' He said and turned a piece of sod. He picked up a wiggly worm replying, 'I've learned a lot about God.'

'M'm very fine way,' the neighbor said, 'for a boy to spend his time.' 'If you'll tell me where God is, I'll give you a brand new dime.'

Quick as a flash the answer came! Nor were his accents faint. 'I'll give you a dollar, Mister, If you can tell me where God ain't.'

HaPpY bIrThDaY tO hAYdEn!!

We now officially have 2 teenagers in the house.... CRAZY! My baby (my 2nd baby) just turned 13 and I can't believe it. Wow time flies!

It seems like it was just yesterday that I locked myself in the bathroom and was crying like a baby because I was supposed to be at the hospital to be started and I decided that I didn't want another baby because it wasn't fair to Kolton. I couldn't imagine loving anyone as much as I loved Kolton. It was my Mother in Law that had to talk me into coming out of the bathroom so I could get to the hospital (there was really no way out of it).

We (Kelly, my Mom & I) got to the hospital and was started at midnight. Kelly & my Mom had brought videos because it was going to be a long night and we were going to make a party out of it. My Mom is good at making things into a party. She loves an adventure!

It was a long night... and a long afternoon too! About 1:00 p.m. the nurse came in and checked me........ not even close. Things were going so slow. My Mom said she was going to go for a walk and that she'd be back. Well in the time she was gone (about 1/2 hour) the nurse came in and said I was ready. I sent Kelly out to find my Mom and he about missed it. My poor Mom did miss it. She had ran down to Mervyn's to buy me a new nightgown. As she was walking back down the hall to my room she heard a baby crying. Sure enough it was coming from our room. She was so surprised when she came back to see that her Grand baby had been born in the time she was gone.

At first I wanted nothing to do with him (absolutely horrible.. I know!). Kelly held him, my Mom held him, my Brother in law held him but not me. I felt like I was betraying Kolton. Everyone kept asking me if I wanted to hold my baby and I just kept saying "no, that's ok.. you can". After maybe 2 hours my SMART Mom finally realized what was going on and just put him in my arms and had everyone leave the room. I was instantly in love! Holding him one time is all it took. No one was able to pry him out of my arms after that.

Hayden is such a sweet kid. He has everyone fooled! He is so quiet in front of others but he is definitely my very most loudest kid. He is such a tease too. He loves to torment Wyatt, Chet, Jasmyn and especially Kolton. His sarcasm on a scale of 1-10 is atleast a 17. He is also a mamma's boy. He is always by my side and I love that!
